Bench Before & After

I got this Bench at the Good will this past weekend for &10.00...way OVER priced, and the manager refused to go down. I still thought it would just be cheaper to buy it then to make it....So here she is....NOt so pretty!!
I'm trying to get my girls room put together, so over the next few days hopefully it will be finished, but that is what i will most likely be posting on...(hope that's not to boring) So this is how the bench turned out, it will be going at the foot of her bed....
I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the legs yet...any suggestions?? (besides cutting them off and putting new ones on!!)

Dont forget to enter the GiveAWay...it ends thursday night....( just scroll down)

Oh that is just adorable! Do you sew Amanda? I'm so jealous. I got a sewing machine for my bday and its still sitting in my garage. I think I'm scared of taking the plunge!

Bench looks really great, and like an expensive CUSTOM piece! I would paint the legs white and possibly antique them a little depending on if you have white or offwhite in your fabric. Maybe some bun feet on the bottom to make the legs less "straight up and down". I think you can get the unfinished ones at Home Depot for pretty cheap.

Great job!! Maybe paint em white or black?? Or lengthen that skirt to cover em up and use the underneath for storage.

Hi Amanda! Thanks for checking out my blog. Okay, you are helping get me motivated about the sewing thing. Maybe I could start with something simple like...a straight line? Okay, just kidding, I'm sure once I get the hang of it I'll love it. Will keep you updated on my sewing adventures!

Hope you'll come check out my linky party this weekend - SHOP THE HOUSE SUNDAY!

So adorable! I can't believe it turned out so stinken cute! I mean that thing was hideouss, and had dirt scum, and crumbs in the cracks between the cusions! I absolutely love it, and I can't wait to see it fit in in the girls room, I can't wait to see how everything ties together!

Beautiful! I think you should paint the legs red or black or brown. Great job on it! It will be perfect at the end of a bed!

I think they would look great in a color that matches the silver-gray trim. It would coordinated well.

You could replace the legs with some cute, turned posts from an old headboard

I agree with Kendall, I think the legs would look really good painted white and antiqued. The girls' room is beautiful I bet. great ideas!

I just found your amazing site. You probably have already finished the legs but what I would have done combine a couple of crafts in a different way:
Items you need:
1. a tube of polyfill
2. a large cake decorating tip
Method:
Fix the tip to the polyfill tube and on wax paper make a few scrolls
spray paint the color that works and glue on the painted legs.
Now you have scrollwork on the legs to match the trim around the top of the bench. Do you know what I mean by scrollwork? I don't know how to add a pic to the comment so I will find a reference pic on your site to use as an example.
Love your ideas

Scrollwork is an element of ornamentation and graphic design using a spiral. Google the word scrollwork and you will see all kinds of pics. I think it would look wonderful.
