worn book look alike, $ 1

i must say i do like theres better, maybe i need to add some green, But hey FOr $ 1 Cant go wrong. i bought the books at the thrift store for 25 cents each. and thent he dried flowers for 25 cents also at the thrift store, i just sanded them all down to make them look worn.

Crib Bench. TUtorial

So here is my breif tutorial on how i made my Crib Bench!!!

I love the idea to make a crib bench because you can make two matching ones to decorate from the heads of the crib, OR if you have two kids that used the same crib, you can make them each there own. OR you can even cut the second head in half and use it for the arms!

I cut 2 by 4 and made a box like this~!

Screwed my box on about 19 " high, i think that is the perfect height for the seat of a bench, then i got some scrap MDF. i cut it a little higher and about 1/2" longer on the sides because im going to add some bead board and i want it to fit in between them.

I nailed on the top slats, added my bead board to cover the exposed 2 by 4, and then added a slat at the bottom so i can put a basket or something on it, and it also makes it alot stronger.

Scored it for only a DOLLAR!

I saw these at this at the thrift store for about a month,and there weren't any takers, so i finally decided to bring them home. Since they had been there for ever, i scored 2 for a dollar Each! not bad!

They didn't have tops on them so i cut some scrap bead board, and slide it in for the top! i think it looks great for just a DOLLAR!!

Bed Makeover- Masterbedroom Part 2

Recycled-new bed!!

I have always loved are bed, but i was considering getting rid of it, BUT then had a change of mind and just ended up painting it black. It was a light light finished wood. Pretty, but not the style i was looking for. IT looks great in the room. We just need some color, Be patient we will get to that!

The night stand was givin to me along time ago and painted it black forever ago.So now it looks perfect in are room. (now i just have stil the matching one out of my sons room..SHhhhh)

I bought this lamp at the Thrift Store for a dollar ( forgot to take a before picture) But it was bright yellow, Which was great because my colors where black, white, and yellow. Not anymore, im doing black, white, and teal blue! No judging its going to look so cute, i have so many ideas!!

Remember these frames from YEsterdays post. Well i painted them again so they werent so SHINY, me no likey shinny! i think they look SO much better!

Decorative books, and dollar store birdies!

So are thift store is awesome, we have a Huge bin of 5 cent books. I got all of these books in that bin. I just took a sheet of sand paper and sanded them down...EASy and cheap my two favorite things!

I found these little chickens and stuff at the Dollar STORe, Yes the dollar store i think they are the Cutest things Ever...i think i will paint the birdies pink and put them in my little girls room!

Thift Store finds this weekend!

i found this lamp at the TS and i lOVEd it...i new exactly what i was going to do with it......

My Sister n law has something like this at her house, and i wanted one So i made one. i even got the wreath at the thrift store for like 25 cents! I just took the lamp apart, took all the shiney stuff off. Then i just put it back together by tinkering!!

i hung the W with some fabric! I found the W at Walmart...it was $2.00 it cost more then the base. Crazy!

We were desperate for a Hamper...are hamper was the floor and it was driving me NUTS! i would of just bought one, but the are like 30 to 40 bucks just at walmart...No thanks im cheap! So i found this baby at the thrift store in good shape and it was only a buck.

In this picture it doesnt look to bad...but it was.

some spray paint and it looks great.. I love it and now we have a HAMPer...cant beat that for a buck and some paint!

p.S. i love the thrift store...you just have to go there with an open mind of what you can do with all the junk there!
